An IGET disposable and a dry-herb or botanical vaporiser are not interchangeable devices. They are designed around different materials, temperatures, chambers and maintenance requirements. A closed IGET should not be opened and repurposed for herbs, oils or extracts.
IGET disposable format
A closed disposable contains a battery, control electronics, a wick and a heating element around the substance installed during manufacture. The user is not expected to load plant material or clean a reusable heating chamber.
Dry-herb or botanical vaporisers
Purpose-built herbal vaporisers typically use a chamber designed for solid plant material and rely on conduction, convection or a combination of both. Temperature controls, screens and cleaning requirements can be very different from a disposable e-cigarette.
Oil and extract devices are another category
Cartridges or devices intended for specific oils or extracts use hardware selected for those materials. An oil that works in one purpose-built cartridge should not be poured into a sealed IGET product.
Why material compatibility matters
Different substances have different viscosities and heating behaviour. Using the wrong material can cause leaking, overheating, poor wicking or unintended aerosol exposure. Opening a disposable also creates battery and seal risks.
Do not choose by appearance alone
Two devices can both be described as “vaporisers” while having completely different intended uses. Identify the device type, material specification and manufacturer instructions before use.
Bottom line
IGET disposables are closed e-cigarette devices, not herbal or botanical vaporisers. If a user needs equipment for another material, the correct approach is a purpose-built and lawfully supplied device—not modification of a sealed IGET.
